We all know the importance of early childhood education and the huge need for those services within our Latino community. Our guest for this week’s #LATISM Twitter Chat is Mi Escuelita Preschool, a non-profit organization that provides early childhood education to low-income children providing them the tools they need to succeed when they enter kindergarten.
This year Mi Escuelita has launched a fundraising campaign called The Story of Emma that narrates the story of success of a girl who had a chance at an early education. Through Emma’s journey we can see the possibilities that programs like Mi Escuelita offers to our Latino children.
We will chat about the crucial need for education and why is important to invest in our Latino children. We will encourage our community to give them wings so they can realize their dreams and be agents of change in this country. How has education made a positive impact in your life? Do you know someone who has been empowered through education? How can we help get more kids to go to preschool?
This is going to be an awesome conversation but also one with a purpose, because every time you tweet using #TheStoryOfEmma hashtag you are automatically generating a $1 donation to Mi Escuelita, up to $10,000! You can go ahead and start tweeting now and we’ll see you at the party. Don’t forget to RSVP because we also have a few regalitos to share.
