Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg: Tech’s new champion for immigration reform

Mark Zuckerberg like many other Americans believes the immigration system is flawed in the United States.

Zuckerberg’s new group, FWD.us, aims to change what they consider flawed immigration policy and jump start a longer-reaching educational reform for the U.S. The group calls for tighter border security, a clear route to U.S. citizenship, and a shift toward math and science-focused education.

Zuckerberg and his new group expect the immigration policy to drive the US tech industry forward with finding more talent in the field.  He says there are tech companies like Microsoft that are pushing for immigration reform.  Microsoft has called for companies to pay higher fees for H-1B visas to raise the limits on immigration and better fund education in the U.S. for the long term.

Zuckerberg stresses that the tech industry must get what they need from the immigration policy.  He also addresses that its a shame immigrants not born in this country had to leave the country after completing college.
