There has been a lot of buzz on how Latinos selected the Presidente during this elections. Yes, that was absolutely the case. Not because we want to get more social services as many idiots are claiming out there. That’s in fact a very superficial and simplistic way looking at a series of issues that must get resolved RIGHT NOW. It was because we made a decision to believe again in the promises and the plans to move forward.
I have no clue about politics, you’ve all heard me say this many times. All I know is that as a community, we placed our trust in the Presidente. Honestly, I was undecided until the last day. Still today I am skeptical of what our future holds. But between the two candidates, I had to select the one that at least made promises that were in line with my hopes. However, this time is very different. Not only I have changed, but our gente has changed.
Our community is not willing to wait passively like we did last term. We want payback rapido. Nothing else must take priority. Selfish? No! It’s about time to pay more attention to the many issues that are killing our dreamer’s dreams. It’s about time that our students get a better service since it’s obviously not working. It’s about time that our gente get back to work. It’s about time that our entrepreneurs join the innovation train. It’s about time that our Latinas get better preventive care. It’s #payback time!
