In 2010, an average of 3.9 visits to medical providers during the course of 12 months, compared to 4.8 visits back in 2001. An average of 42 percent of Hispanics never visit the doctor over the course of a year.

“The Hispanic community is the community least likely to have health insurance,” Dr. Jane Delgado, President and CEO of the National Health Alliance for Hispanics, told NBC Latino.“We don’t go to the doctor until we’re very, very sick. By then, our health care clinician is limited in what they can do because the condition is too difficult to pinpoint.”
